Motorola Xoom 2 and Xoom 2 Media Edition Tablets Launch

Motorola today officially announced the release of new Xoom tablets. Named expectedly as Xoom 2, the tablets come in two sizes.  10.1 inch and 8.2 inch. Both tablets feature 1.2 GHz dual core processors, 1 GB Memory, 16GB storage. The cameras are 5 and 1.3 megapixels. Both tablets take advantage of ultra protective and scratch resistant Gorilla Glass.

Multiple Motorola Tablet Sizes Coming

According to latest statements from Motorola Mobility CEO Sanjay Jha, it would be reasonable to have differently sized family of Motorola tablets. It would give more freedom in choosing the best suitable tablet for customers on different budget ranges. He mentioned about 7 inch tablets, tablets targeted to different demographics of customer demand like kids, women, teenagers etc. on Motorola’s earnings call.

Actually, it is an expected move after all and eventually all tablet device manufacturers will enlarge their tablet portfolio to different sizes — if we do not count the biggest 7 inch tablet opposition, Apple !

New Leak! Motorola Xoom priced at $800

According to a latest Verizon insider leak in which Android Central got, Motorola Xoom tablet will be priced at $800 at minimum when released to the market.

The photo shows the MAP (Minimum Advertised Pricing) of several Motorola handsets, HTC Thunderbolt along with Motorola Android tablet, Xoom. While the authenticity of it is surely not certain — anyone can easily prepare such documents or fake emails at home conditions, there were multiple reports saying the same price tag, $800. Motorola Xoom Tablet Sales Aim : 800,000 in Q1

According to digitimes website, Motorola has an aim to sell 700,000 to 800,000 tablets in Q1 2011. As we know, Samsung Galaxy tab achieved such record and even passed these numbers with their 7 inch tablet and Motorola Xoom tablet — being the most impressive 10.1 inch tablet so far — it is a reasonable estimation. There were very different naming predictions for the upcoming Motorola tablet, amongst them Motorola Everest and Stingray being the first candidates. Now, a Motorola XOOM Tablet is being mentioned everywhere.
